Advanced Diploma in Live Sports Production
Eighteen months to specialise, and to learn how decisions get made when the clock is running.
Overview
The Trimester is for learners ready to commit to a specialism. Focused tracks in Production Leadership, Camera and Replay, Graphics and Data, and Audio and Transmission combine deeper technical instruction with the judgement required when timing, editorial priorities and team communication collide.
Capstone projects recreate the complexity of full multi-camera sports coverage. You will lead as well as operate, because knowing how to do the job and knowing how to direct someone else doing it are different skills.
What you will learn
- Advanced technique within your chosen specialist track
- Live decision-making when priorities conflict
- Contingency and failure planning before the event, not during it
- Production leadership — briefing, allocating, communicating, reviewing
- Capstone project design and delivery
What you will be able to do
- Take responsibility for a specialist function on a complex production
- Lead a small crew through a full match-day workflow
- Make and defend editorial calls under time pressure
- Present a capstone body of work in your specialism
Who this is for
Intermediate learners, media professionals and production practitioners seeking advanced specialisation and leadership development.
How you will learn
Track-specific instruction, advanced production labs, leadership simulations, mentor-led review and a capstone project assessed against professional criteria.
